Mechanic Liens

A mechanics lien is a claim by a contractor, subcontractor, supplier, architect or engineer for payment for work done on property or to develop property. Illinois mechanics lien law is unique. The Illinois Supreme Court has said so. It is also complicated. If you are in any way involved in construction either as an owner, contractor, subcontractor, architect, engineer, title company or lender, you need knowledgeable legal advice and service to assert or defend against mechanics liens.
